Trondheim Airport, Værnes is an international airport serving Trondheim, a city and municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The airport is located in Værnes, a village in the municipality of Stjørdal in Trøndelag county, 10 nautical miles (19 km; 12 mi) east of Trondheim.
Værnes is first recorded in the 10th century as the seat for one of eight chieftains in Trøndelag. The first military activity in the area was as a base for leidang. After the Viking Age, the farm at Værnes was taken over by the king and became the seat of the vogt.
Coop Vikhals is the only cooperative store in Aure that is not merged with Orkla, but the traditional store seems to have the right of life anyway. People locally are good at using the store, but there is room for more customers, says manager Ingrunn Romundset. She also points out that cabin people are getting better at using the store.
The activity at the traditional Vihals commercial site is increasing, and together with the neighbors the offer on site has become just as versatile with a hairdressing salon, flowers and gift shop, garden center, aromatherapy and solarium. Wall to wall is also the hamlet house, which is rented out for all kinds of events.
Aure is the administrative centre of Aure Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located on the mainland, along the Aursundet strait. The 0.53-square-kilometre village has a population of 653 and a population density of 1,232 inhabitants per square kilometre.
The municipality is named after the old Aure farm (Old Norse: Aurar), since the first Aure Church was built there. The name is the plural form of aurr which means “gravel”
The village of Aure has been the site of Aure Church since the middle ages. There have been several church buildings on this church site over the centuries. It is the main church for the municipality.
Aure’s coastline is almost 300 kilometres long. Unique possibilities for angling from the shore and from the many bridges and sounds. Fishing from boats for herring, mackerel, saithe, cod and pollock. Great hunting for red deer in the large forest and mountain areas. Excellent fishing for freshwater trout and sea trout.
A great place for fishing, and also a great place for getting some nice local food and drinks at some of the guesthouses and pubs located in Aure.
